The Rotary Cutting Die
A typical rotary diemaker strives to place in your hands a tool that will go onto your press in a "Press-Ready" condition. This tool should allow the operator to set the machine die pressure at a minimum of cutting knife pressure (no more / no less) than what is required to obtain clean perimeter cutting. The operator should obtain clean interior slots / cutouts while reaching excellent scoring impression visible on the finished blank. When this series of events are accomplished the cutting die should give you the desired cutting dimension through the press.
